Beetroot & Cherry Complete (concentrated)

Beetroot & Cherry Complete combines beetroot powder and extract (10:1), with Montmorency (sour) cherry powder and extract (10:1), to provide a concentrated formula – 4500mg per capsule.

These superfoods are then complimented by the addition of three nutritive allies in the same formula – vitamin B6black pepper powder and turmeric extract (95% curcumin) – to provide additional support for the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, energy-yielding metabolism, immunity, red blood cell formation, the nervous system, hormonal activity, protein and glycogen metabolism and more.

This food supplement is high in bioavailable antioxidants (including anthocyanins) and contains non-irritating iron, while the black pepper increases the absorption and utilisation of the beneficial ingredients in the formula.

Combination cherry and beetroot capsules are particularly popular with athletes, because of the high levels of dietary nitrate present in beetroot, the anti-inflammatory agents present in Montmorency cherry and the high levels of antioxidants present in both. Allied with vitamin B6, black pepper powder and turmeric extract, this supplement offers those who place high demands on their body a winning combination for high energy levels, stamina, immunity and general well-being.

About the ingredients…

Beetroot

Beetroot is the taproot portion of the beet plant. It is one of several of the cultivated varieties of Beta vulgaris grown for their edible taproots and their leaves (called beet greens). The deep red colour of beetroot results from the presence of a type of betalain pigment (betacyanins). Beetroot also contains betaine and inorganic nitrates.

Betalain pigments
The deep red colour of beetroot results from the presence of betalain pigments. There are two categories of betalains, one of which is responsible for these reddish to violet colours – betacyanins. Betanin is an example of betacyanins present in red beetroot.

Betaine (Trimethylglycine (TMG))
Betaine is a naturally-occurring substance and amino acid, found in plants and particularly in beetroot. Betaine is created by choline, in combination with the amino acid glycine.

Dietary nitrate
Nitrate is an inorganic compound composed of nitrogen and oxygen and found naturally in soil and water. The nitrate in our diet comes from both food and drinking water, but the highest levels of dietary nitrate are found in vegetables.

Montmorency cherries

Montmorency cherries are a type of red, sour cherry – Prunus cerasus. They are grown in Canada, France and the United States and are part of the lighter red Amarelle cultivar of sour cherries, rather than the darker-red Morellocultivar.

Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6 contributes to the normal function of the immune system, the regulation of hormonal activity, normal cysteine synthesis, normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal homocysteine metabolism, normal protein and glycogen metabolism and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Click here and here for EFSA scientific opinions.

Turmeric and curcumin

Turmeric is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial plant (Curcuma longa) of the ginger family, Zingiberaceae. It is native to southern Asia.

When not used fresh, the rhizomes (roots) are boiled for 30 – 45 minutes and then dried in hot ovens, after which they are ground into a deep orange/yellow powder that is commonly used as a natural colouring and delicious spice in Bangladeshi, Indian, Iranian and Pakistani cuisine, as well as for dyeing.

Turmeric root powder has been long used by Ayurvedic practitioners, largely due to its main constituent, curcumin. More recently, it has become increasingly popular in the Western world for use in both food and food supplements, after much TV, magazine and radio coverage.

Black pepper

Black pepper (Piper nigrum) is a flowering vine in the family Piperaceae, cultivated for its fruit, which is usually dried and used as a spice and seasoning. When dried, the fruit is known as a peppercorn. When fresh and fully mature, it is approximately 5 millimetres (0.20 in) in diameter, dark red, and, like all drupes, contains a single seed.

Peppercorns, and the ground pepper derived from them, may be described simply as pepper, or more precisely as black pepper (cooked and dried unripe fruit), green pepper (dried unripe fruit) and white pepper (ripe fruit seeds). Piperine is the alkaloid responsible for the pungency of black pepper.

We ship orders every day from Monday to Friday (except for Public and Bank Holidays etc). Most orders placed before 10am Monday – Friday will be shipped the same day; all other orders will usually be shipped within 2 business days of the order being placed.

Please note: even if you elect to pay extra for 1st class post, this does not guarantee that your order will be shipped the same day or the next day. Also see the note below regarding Royal Mail delivery times.

Parcel sizes: most orders will NOT fit through a letter box slot. If you are not in to receive your order, please leave a note on your door for the postman to leave it with a neighbour or look for the Royal Mail “Not able to deliver” note and contact them ASAP for re-delivery, or the parcel will be sent back to us after 5 business days.

Delivery times

Royal Mail
For UK orders, Royal Mail states that 1st class Mail is delivered between 1 and 2 business days and 2nd class Mail (including 2nd class Recorded Delivery) is delivered within 5 – 10 business days (see the Royal Mail website for full details).
Delivery to destinations outside the UK vary from 10 to 19 business days. Please see the Royal Mail website for details. Parcels may also be held up by customs.

Courier
If we decide to ship your UK order by courier (Interlink) because of its weight or value, you will receive a notification email and then a text message approximately 1 hour prior to delivery (if you provided the correct email address and mobile phone number). Delivery by courier normally takes place the next day.

Please note: We post orders as quickly as possible. However, the delivery times mentioned above are NOT guaranteed – they are just approximate times provided by the mail carriers. Once we pass an item to a mail delivery service company, we cannot control delays and delivery times. Whilst we are sorry for any inconvenience caused by delivery delays, we cannot take any responsibility for them – though we will, of course, do everything we can to help you get your order in the quickest possible time.

Order status

You will receive two emails after you have placed your order and provided us with a valid email address:

  1. The first confirms that your order has been received and will contain your receipt; this email should arrive within approximately 24 hours.
  2. The second confirms that your order has been posted; this email should arrive within approximately 1 business day following authorisation of your credit card and verification of your information.
  3. If you do not receive our emails, please look in your spam or junk folders. If they are not found in there, you will have typed in an incorrect email address when completing the order form email address field.

Late packages

If your order appears to be late, please remember:

  • courier deliveries (which will be through Interlink) only take place on business days (i.e. Monday – Friday, excluding holidays).
  • delays to deliveries by Royal Mail do occur and these are beyond our control. Please be patient, as usually your item will arrive within a few days of dispatch. Always check your post box for an “unable to deliver” note, as most packages will be unable to fit in a standard post box and if a signature is required, they will not leave the item.

Please note: In some cases, Royal Mail do not leave an “unable to deliver” note. If your delivery has not arrived after 10 working days and you have not had an “unable to deliver” note left in your letter box, contact your local post office or Royal Mail collection depot immediately, as it will usually be awaiting collection there. If parcels are not collected within 7 working days, they are usually posted back to us. However, it takes around 30 days for us to receive returned parcels. In these circumstances, a delivery charge of €4.99 will apply to any orders that are required to be re-shipped to you.

Delayed, lost or confiscated mail

Please refer to our Terms & Conditions.

The time period before Royal Mail will accept that an item has been lost is 19 business days from the delivery due date for UK mail, and approximately 29 days for mail posted to anywhere outside the UK.

When placing an order with us, please take care to provide your full and correct address. In the event of lost mail due to incorrect address details being provided, we will not be able to refund your shipping costs (if applicable). You will also be required to pay for a share of the re-stocking fee, which will be 25% of the amount you paid for the item(s) in your order.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you are allowed to import any supplement you wish to purchase from the UK into your own country. If Customs officials in your country return your order to us, either because you did not have permission to import such supplements, or because such supplements are banned in your country, we will refund your order less the shipping costs incurred by us. Please check with your country’s Customs officials to make sure that you are permitted to import any supplement before purchasing.

Important notice: Customs, in rare instances, may confiscate shipments containing locally prohibited products from entering into their respective countries. In the unlikely event that your shipment is confiscated, we accept no financial responsibility, and therefore will not offer any refunds for your order.
