Our Antarctic Krill Oil (Euphausia superba) is a natural source of high concentration omega 3 oil, the powerful antioxidant astaxanthin, as well as high levels of phospholipids – a fundamental component of human cell membranes. It contains two types of Omega 3 fatty acid: eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).
Krill oil is used for the same reasons as cod liver oil, flax oil and other omega 3 fatty acids, but is often favoured because it does not cause fishy burps or an after-taste – a common side effect of fish oil.
The fact that it contains astaxanthin is also unique. The ultimate antioxidant – researchers have found that it may be more powerful than vitamin E, beta-carotene and lutein. It can also enhance the action of other antioxidants, such as vitamin E and C.
Our krill oil is a high-strength formula (500mg), provided in an easy-to-swallow marine gel capsule form. It is sourced exclusively from sustainable fisheries in the Antarctic, through our partners Aker BioMarine™ who work with World Wildlife Foundation Norway to ensure sustainable krill harvesting.
Also known as Euphausia superba, krill oil is a source of Omega 3 oil. It contains two types of Omega 3 fatty acid: eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).
Krill oil also contains astaxanthin, as well as phospholipids – two properties which set it apart from traditional fish oils.
People tend to use krill oil for the same reasons that they use fish oil, flaxseed oil or other Omega 3 fatty acids. However, unlike fish oil, krill oil does not cause fishy burps or leave an after-taste.
Our high grade Antarctic Krill Oil supplement provides 500mg of krill oil per capsule, which is sourced exclusively from sustainable fisheries in the Antarctic through our partners Aker BioMarine™ (who work with World Wildlife Foundation Norway to ensure sustainable krill harvesting).

Our Antarctic Krill Oil capsules contain only krill oil, rather than krill oil combined with ordinary fish oil as found in some other products.
Krill oil is derived from small shrimp-like marine crustaceans found in oceans around the world, but they are most common in cold-water oceans, such as the Antarctic and North Pacific. There are 18 species and an estimated 500 – 750 million tonnes of krill worldwide. This makes them the most significant biomass of animals in the world. They are a staple food for fish, whales, sharks, seals, penguins and other sea birds. Krill eat phytoplankton (microscopic plant life). Unlike many fish, one of the key benefits of krill is that they are low enough on the food chain so that they do not pose a threat of containing mercury.
Omega 3 oils
Omega 3 oils are generally found in coldwater fatty fish, deep green vegetables and some grains and seeds. Krill oil is a source of two types of Omega 3 fatty acid: eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).
DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal blood triglyceride levels (with a daily intake of 2g of DHA and when taken in combination with EPA)* – click here for EFSA scientific opinion.
*Users should not exceed a supplemental daily intake of 5g of EPA and DHA combined.
Krill oil also provides phospholipids – naturally-occurring molecules that are a major component of all cell membranes.
Astaxanthin is a pigment that belongs to a group of natural substances called carotenoids. It occurs naturally in certain algae and causes the pink/red colour of krill.
The presence of astaxanthin also helps to keep krill oil stable without the need for additives, protecting the Omega 3 fatty acids from becoming rancid due to oxidisation.
We offer FREE delivery on all Ireland & UK orders over €69.99. Shipping charges apply for Irish & UK orders under €69.99 and to international orders – see below.
Orders are shipped out either by Royal Mail 2nd class post, 2nd class Recorded Delivery or by courier (Interlink), depending on the value and weight (and at our discretion).

Please note: even if you elect to pay extra for 1st class post, this does not guarantee that your order will be shipped the same day or the next day. Also see the note below regarding Royal Mail delivery times.
Parcel sizes: most orders will NOT fit through a letter box slot. If you are not in to receive your order, please leave a note on your door for the postman to leave it with a neighbour or look for the Royal Mail “Not able to deliver” note and contact them ASAP for re-delivery, or the parcel will be sent back to us after 5 business days.

You will receive two emails after you have placed your order and provided us with a valid email address:
If your order appears to be late, please remember:
Please note: In some cases, Royal Mail do not leave an “unable to deliver” note. If your delivery has not arrived after 10 working days and you have not had an “unable to deliver” note left in your letter box, contact your local post office or Royal Mail collection depot immediately, as it will usually be awaiting collection there. If parcels are not collected within 7 working days, they are usually posted back to us. However, it takes around 30 days for us to receive returned parcels. In these circumstances, a delivery charge of €4.99 will apply to any orders that are required to be re-shipped to you.
Please refer to our Terms & Conditions.
The time period before Royal Mail will accept that an item has been lost is 19 business days from the delivery due date for UK mail, and approximately 29 days for mail posted to anywhere outside the UK.

In the event of lost mail due to incorrect address details being provided, we will not be able to refund your shipping costs (if applicable). It is your responsibility to ensure that you are allowed to import any supplement you wish to purchase from the UK into your own country. If Customs officials in your country return your order to us, either because you did not have permission to import such supplements, or because such supplements are banned in your country, we will refund your order less the shipping costs incurred by us. Please check with your country’s Customs officials to make sure that you are permitted to import any supplement before purchasing.
Important notice: Customs, in rare instances, may confiscate shipments containing locally prohibited products from entering into their respective countries. In the unlikely event that your shipment is confiscated, we accept no financial responsibility, and therefore will not offer any refunds for your order.
